Privacy policy
Neither the Lake Notice website nor its iOS app collects personal data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party script or SDK in either.
Last updated 2026-10-12. Covers this website and the Lake Notice iPhone app.
The website
- Every page is a plain static file. No cookies are set and no JavaScript runs.
- No page makes a request to any server other than the one serving it.
- The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub receives standard request information (IP address, the page requested, time, browser type) to serve pages — see GitHub's privacy statement. This site adds no collection on top of that.
The iPhone app
- No analytics: the app has no analytics, no tracking and no third-party SDK.
- What stays on your phone: the lakes you favorite, the latest copy of the advisory data, and a record of which advisories the app has already alerted you about. These live only in the app's own storage on your device (and in your device backups, if you back up your phone). Deleting the app deletes them. They are never sent to the developer or anyone else.
- The one network request: the app downloads the public advisory data file this website publishes, from GitHub Pages. The request carries no identifier and nothing about you or your favorites; as with any web request, the host sees the IP address it came from. Links to the state's map or to this site open in your browser.
- Notifications: alerts are local notifications that iOS schedules on your device. There is no push service and no device token.
- Purchases: the one-time in-app purchase is handled entirely by Apple. The developer does not receive your name, email address or payment details; Apple's privacy policy applies to the transaction.
- App Store privacy label: Data Not Collected.
Children
Nothing is collected from anyone, including children.
