Is a lake with no advisory OK to swim in?

The records cannot say. Most waters are never tested. See the limits of the data.

Why does an old advisory still show?

The state never recorded an end for it. It stays listed, with its date, until the state does.

A lake's record looks wrong.

When do app alerts arrive?

Within about a day of the state publishing an advisory. iOS decides exactly when the app checks.
